Demystifying Transporation Jargon

Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices, Furnishing Zone, Regional Transportation Plan, TSP, ROW. What do these all mean?!

We are looking to help demystify transportation jargon. Many community advocates and Oregon Walks supporters have become well versed in the transportation terms when advocating for safer streets. We are looking to break down the barrier of acronyms, plans, and technical terms that play a major role in how our walking environment and transportation system is shaped.

These terms can be confusing at the very least but also a major barrier to understanding and effectively advocating for safer streets for everyone.

Follow us on social media to stay up to date on transportation vocabulary.

Share your walking story with us!

At Oregon Walks, we walk and roll for many different reasons. We walk for safer streets, better health, a better environment, and as a form of transportation, just to name a few.

Share you walking story with us- why you walk, where you walk, why walking is important to you!

It's easy just follow these few steps
  1. Print out the "Oregon Walks..." template or create your own
  2. Write down your walking story
  3. Snap a picture
  4. Share it with us on social media with the hashtag #OregonWalks

Walk on!
