A Month Made for Walking
Oregon Walks has been walking and rolling all across Oregon for the last 35 years, and we’re not stopping anytime soon — especially during the month of STEPtember! We dedicate the month of September to promote walking as a fun, healthy, ubiquitous activity. We collaborate with community members, non-profit organizations, and government agencies alike to create and host walks that are led by and for everyone. Grab a friend, pick an event (or two), and let’s get to walking!

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to walk across Portland? Well, now you can actually do it. Oregon Walks is wrapping up STEPtember with our first Portland Promenade!
On Sunday, September 27th at 8:30am, we’re starting at Luuwit View Park and ending in the heart of Downtown at Pioneer Courthouse Square. We are exploring travel options to Luuwit View Park — more information to come!
This ~11 mile route hits all four city council districts, takes us across the Willamette River, visits our newest bike/pedestrian crossing at the Blumenauer Bridge—with a visit by the former Congressman, strolls the tree-covered Knott Street, and visits many sites in between. Shorter route segments will be available if ~11 miles sounds like too much.
At the end, we’ll host a big party! We’ll celebrate Oregon Walks, a successful STEPtember, and honor all our Portland Promenade walkers – plus honor our supporters at our annual membership gathering! The entire event is free. Interested in attending or volunteering? Click the RSVP button below.
