Join Oregon Walks’ Plans & Projects Committee to walk a stretch of SE 82nd pre-jurisdictional transfer. We’ll meet in Essex Park at 79th and Center St. and walk east to where this Neighborhood Greenway ends at 82nd Ave. From there we’ll head south to see the current land use and pedestrian conditions along this urban freeway which is one the cusp of becoming a city street. Along the way we’ll see many local business, transit stops, and a variety of walking conditions. We’ll cross 82nd twice: once at a signaled intersection and once at a Rapid Flashing Beacon.

After 30 minutes, we’ll head back north and grab food to go at Eastport Foodcarts at 82nd and Center across from Eastport Plaza. This former used car lot is now home to indoor/outdoor food and drink options representing many different national and regional American cuisines. We’ll take our food back to Essex park where we can eat and continue our discussion of what 82nd Ave. could become!
