Oregon Walkways: Lents Founders Fair

Want to get involved? Lead a fun activity? Be a volunteer? Join us for a volunteer recruitment event for the big day on Wed. July 19th at the Rogue Eastside Pub's Barrel Room.

We’re teaming up with the Lents Neighborhood Association and Green Lents, a place-based non-profit working to promote environmental sustainability, to bring the second annual Oregon Walkways to the historic Lents neighborhood.

Oregon Walkways: Lents Founder Fair will give participants an opportunity to explore the neighborhood on foot, experiences the Green Ring, and use the streets for play as we close off streets to cars and open them up to people. The route will highlight the new NAYA Generations intergenerational community, The Lents International Farmer’s Market, Green Lents Community Tool Library and of course, the Lents Founder Fair celebration, concentrated in the SW corner of Lents park, featuring Founder Fair favorites like the Beautiful Chicken Contest and live music performances.

*Event route subject to change to accommodate street closure requirements.

This event is generously supported by Metro and the City of Portland. Community partners include Rose Community Development, Lents International Farmer’s Market, Portland Fire and Rescue Station 11, NAYA Generations, City Repair and individuals who live and work in the neighborhood. Support in creating the traffic control plan is being provided by Better Block PDX and Portland State University’s Civil & Environmental Engineering Capstone. Special thanks to Julianna Johnson for creating the poster illustration.

About Green Lents | Green Lents is a non-profit founded in 2009 and supported by your neighbors, who are working to promote a culture of sharing and environmental sustainability in and around the Lents neighborhood. In 2011, Green Lents became a 501-c-3 non-profit to better support this work. We work in teams of volunteers to help support local projects that the community has prioritized. These teams are made up of people like you, who want to work together to create a more sustainable and thriving community. Together we can enjoy and create community resources and neighborhood assets that bring us back to our more resilient and locally dependent roots. Learn more about Green Lents at greenlents.org
