Walkways
Purpose: Reimagine how we can use street infrastructure in ways that build community, demonstrate how streets may be used by walkers, and promote health.
Description: A pedestrian-focused, open streets event series celebrating Portland communities.
Toolkit: Oregon Walks shares the technical toolkit and assistance in the development, promotes Walkways, and builds capacity for walking programming.
Example: Lents Founder’s Fair, Cully Camina, and Rosewood Walkways, NextLevel Health Walks

STEPtember
Purpose: Promote walking that is fun, healthy, and the opportunity to connect with unique people, places and ideas.
Description: A month-long series of walks hosted by individuals and groups who want to share places and ideas they are passionate about.
Toolkit: Oregon Walks provides open/online calendar, walk leader training, and promotes walks

Education and Empowerment Training
Purpose: Develop community capacity to improve walking options and conditions for walking.
Description: Help people and organizations identify and address barriers to walking accessibility.
Toolkit: Oregon Walks provides tools for gathering community feedback to identify barriers and solutions to walking accessibility, such as public speaking training, invitations to engage with policymakers, and other individualized solutions.
Examples: Latinas Guerreras, Community Action Group, Safe Routes to School/Fixing Our Street, Springtree Apartments School Bus Project, Healthy Options to School
